Master in Chemical Engineering

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (M.EQ) is to train professionals in the field of Chemical Engineering or related areas with the highest quality standard, having in mind professional careers in the context of either industrial practice or research activities, among many others.

Emphasizing a practical engineering culture together with project activity, the syllabus offers students the possibility of acquiring specific competences in one of the following areas (specialisations): i) Processes and Products; ii) Energy; iii) Biotechnology; iv) Environment.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering intends to empower students with the following competences:

  • To understand the nature and dimension of manufacturing industries related to Chemical Engineering.
  • The ability to apply physical, chemical and biological concepts in analysis processes.
  • The ability to systematically organize information and solve fundamental and complex problems in Chemical Engineering and related areas.
  • The ability to use the available methods for conception, design, implementation and operation of systems in industrial and social contexts, with all the inherent implications.
