FEUP Library
In the Library you can find a vast set of information resources to support your learning and research activities, in printed and electronic support, from books, magazines, audiovisuals, standards, patents, reports, as well as several databases of scientific information and technical.
These resources can be consulted in the Library space, where they are organized by thematic areas, or via the web for 24 hours a day, from the library.fe.up.pt website.
The Library offers a personalized support and guidance service, provided in person by a team of technicians at the counters on the floors of the Library and in infoliteracy rooms (Room C006 (Floor 0) and Room C601 (Floor 6) for more specialized support (individual or small
groups). Remote support is provided by email (infoliteracia@fe.up.pt) or telephone (ext. 1890, or 225 081 890).
When necessary, you can use the loan service, available after registration at the Library; the loan is subject to a regulation that must be consulted. Loans and returns must be made at the service desk on the entrance floor of the Library. Renewals and reservations are made online, through the Library Catalog.
To help you develop transversal skills in the area of infoliteracy (research, location, evaluation and use of information), you can also find in the Library a series of training activities throughout the school year. These are free thematic sessions that take place in person on the 6th floor (training room) and that only require prior registration.
Constituting one of the main points of access to knowledge, the Library also presents several cultural activities. As a way of encouraging the reading habits of the community, the Library created the FEUP Reading Club, presenting sessions that encourage debate about authors and literary works.
Other activities include organizing lectures, exhibitions and sessions to celebrate special dates. The Library is also responsible for the FEUP Museum, created with the aim of inventorying, conserving and disseminating the institution’s collection of artifacts and equipment.
