The symposium on “Mining Engineering and Geo-Resources” will be held in the scope of the 5th Doctoral Congress Engineering (DCE23) which will be hosted at FEUP, Porto, Portugal on the 15th and 16th of June 2023.
This Symposium is organized in collaboration with the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), by PhD and Master Students from the following Programmes:
- Doctoral Programme in Mining Engineering and Geo-Resources (PDEMGR/FEUP)
- Doctoral Programme in Earth-Resources (DGEO/IST)
- Doctoral Programme in Petroleum Engineering (DEPet/IST)
- Master in Mining Engineering and Geo-Environment (M.EMG/FEUP)
- Master in Mining and Geological Engineering (MEGM/IST)
- Master in Energetic Resources (MERE/IST)
with the support of the Research Centre CERENA.

- Energy Resources Engineering;
- Critical raw-materials to leverage energy and digital transition;
- Sustainable supply of raw materials.

At least one of the authors is required to attend the Symposium to present the Abstract.

Publications
All accepted and revised abstracts, with at least one author registered in the Congress with a paid fee, will be mentioned in the event’s program.
All accepted and revised abstracts, with at least one author registered in the Congress with a paid fee, will be published in the Symposium Book of Abstracts (with ISBN).
Authors of accepted and revised abstracts will be encouraged to submit their manuscripts (full paper with revisions completed) to the U. Porto Journal of Engineering for publication in a special issue.

Awards
Authors of accepted and revised abstracts, presented at the Congress, will be eligible for:
- “Best student oral communication”
- “Best student poster”

Registration (Payment)
Registration is mandatory for all participants.
At least one author of each accepted and revised abstract must be registered in the event, with a paid fee, for the abstracts’ reference to appear in the Booklet, in the Book of Abstracts and in the Proceedings.
All abstracts submitted to this Symposium, accepted and revised, will have one (1) registration paid (to the author who presents the oral communication or the poster). To have your registration paid, check the ‘Registrations‘ webpage and follow the guidelines.
At least 1 author must be registered in the Congress with a paid fee (the presenter of the oral/poster communication).
All presenters will have their fees paid by PDEMGR.
All invited speakers will have their fees paid by PDEMGR.
