Inspire a culture of sustainability, contributing to a better society, through the incorporation of the principles of sustainable development, i.e., development that meets present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, in the decision-making processes of the Faculty of Engineering of the U.Porto (FEUP) is the mission of the Commission for Sustainability.
The sustainability strategy of FEUP is aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 of the United Nations Organization.

FEUP is, since 2009, member of the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges. It is, since 2020, a founding member of the Pact for Plastics. Also in 2020, FEUP signed the letter of commitment to sustainable development promoted by the Sustainable Campus Network.
