The Horta à Porta project was launched by the Conde Ferreira Hospital Centre, in collaboration with Lipor, and involved the complete transformation of a 3-hectare piece of unused land within the hospital grounds into the José Avides Moreira Park. This park now features 230 plots of 30 m² each, dedicated exclusively to organic gardening, and made available to hospital staff, patients, and the wider public.
As part of this initiative, FEUP was invited to manage and cultivate two of these plots on behalf of its academic community. The project has been enthusiastically embraced at FEUP, and thanks to the commitment of a group of dedicated volunteers, it has already produced remarkable results.
