Orders for FEUP organic baskets (or half baskets) are now open

On March 21st, Good Food HUBs, the FEUP Events Center and the FEUP Sustainability Commissariat come together once again to provide access to the freshest food directly from producers.

After the success of the FEUP Baskets at EcoMarket in December and during the months of January and February 2024, we have now reinforced the need to place prior orders with FEUP producers, so that they can begin to prepare the your products. All orders must be placed through the Hortee platform: https: //app.hortee.co/, which allows viewing of products, orders and online payments. Orders are only finalized after payment. We inform you that it is necessary to guarantee the order of 15 baskets to hold the market. Thus, if orders reach these values, producers will confirm the baskets and payment will be available.

FEUP Basket

The FEUP Basket on March 21st contains products worth a total of €20 and includes:

  • Fruit (10€)
    • Tangerine;
    • Orange;
    • Apple;
    • Lemon;
  • Vegetables (10€)
    • Leek;
    • Spinach;
    • Heart cabbage or Galega cabbage;
    • Green and purple lettuce;

    • Parsley or Coriander.

NOTE 1: Some products may change depending on availability, so you should order them as soon as possible.

Half FEUP basket

It’s a basket with less quantity but with the same freshness and ingredients, for smaller families or people alone or with a small appetite!

When choosing the FEUP basket, you will see the €12 option and the €20 option, which is the half-basket or the full basket respectively.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms must be ordered separately, as their growth in time is not guaranteed given the low temperatures. We recommend ordering quickly so the producer knows what to expect.

How to order the FEUP Basket and until when?

In the Hortee application, accessing the FEUP market on the home page, you can choose the FEUP Hamper product, which has a value of €20. After selecting the product, you must complete the order and choose the delivery point. When selecting FEUP you will see that this value suffers a Good Food HUBs discount of 12%, so the final price to pay will be €21.60, which is €20 for the products plus Hortee fees.

If you order the FEUP basket, you will only pay once for the entire basket. If you order mushrooms you must make two payments, one for the basket and one for the mushrooms.

Orders must be placed by March 14th, at 11:59 pm.

How to build my own basket?

So, if I don’t want the pre-defined FEUP basket, can I have my own basket made to my liking? Maybe yes.

The Hortee application is a Marketplace for fresh products, which tries to simulate going shopping to any market.

To create your own basket, you must access the FEUP market on the application’s home page and from there choose as many products as you want and the respective quantities. In the end, you must confirm orders with each producer and make the respective payments (1 payment per producer) after the producer confirms availability.

You can also purchase the FEUP basket and complement it with other products you want.

Minimum orders for each producer are €5 and must be placedby the 15th of February, at 11:59 pm.

Good Food HUBs Suggestion

Some products are not available in the application but are available in the baskets. This is an option for some producers as ordering baskets facilitates operations, organizing orders and preparing deliveries. Furthermore, the value of the products in the baskets is usually higher than what consumers pay, as producers add products in greater quantity or other products that they have available or that are surplus.

Acquisition by baskets also strengthens the producer-consumer relationship and improves the experience of purchasing organic products, as it has a greater variety of products and challenges creative consumption, such as new products and new combinations.

The suggestion is to purchase the FEUP basket and, if there is a product you don’t like, ask the producer directly to evaluate the possibility of exchanging it. /strong> The objective is to let yourself be carried away by the experience of organic food directly from the farm to the plate. The functionality to communicate with the producer is provided in Hortee, through the order notes field.
