Call for abstracts

The 2nd Portuguese Doctoral Symposium on Engineering Physics will take place on the 8th and 9th of June 2017, at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP). The Symposium is integrated in the Doctoral Congress in Engineering, organized by FEUPs PhD students.

The Doctoral Symposium on Engineering Physics stems from the Doctoral Programme in Engineering Physics, a joint programme of FCUP and FEUP.

Further to the parallel Symposiums, the Doctoral Congress includes plenary talks and workshops on PhDs employability, industry relations, innovation, and patents.  download the poster.

The Symposium is open to communications (oral and poster) by Master and PhD students on any topic of Physics Engineering/Applied and Technical Physics. Communications addressing published patents are welcome.

Instructions for presenters

All oral communications are 15 min. long (including 5 min. for questions). Presenters can bring their laptop or the presentation (PDF format preferred). A Windows computer is available. The poster session will be held in the large hall-corridor in front of the Symposium auditoriums, on June 8th. Poster maximum size is A0, it should be attached early in the day (pins/scotch will be provided). Poster will be on display only during the 8th of June. Accepted posters here.

Important dates

Contributions submitted until 14th of April will be considered for oral and poster presentation. Any contribution submitted after 14th of April will be considered for poster presentation only.

Abstract submission

The abstract submissions have a limit of two pages maximum and the templates may be obtained here. Please submit your abstract in the easychair site. In easychair write only one sentence in the “Abstract” field. In the field “Other Information and Uploads” you must upload the pdf of the abstract. Only this file will be considered.
