SDG 4 – Quality Education

The EDS@FEUP project is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, and more specifically with target 4.7, which calls for ensuring that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development. The primary aim of EDS@FEUP is to equip students with the competencies required to integrate sustainability principles into their current and future professional practices, grounded in a deep understanding of today’s and tomorrow’s environmental, social, and economic challenges.

In addition, the project seeks to act as a catalyst for embedding sustainable development into the institutional culture at FEUP, fostering a transformative and long-lasting impact.

The integration of ESD in FEUP will be accomplished through the following measures:

  • Consolidated training of teachers in sustainability
  • Training of researchers and technicians
  • A structured, transversal and participated revision of curricular plans, either by the adaptation of existing CU or by the development of new CU
  • Implementation of the CU in the classroom context and the realization of an iterative process of monitoring and evaluation
  • Development of dedicated contents in the area of sustainability with generalized access
  • Non-formal education initiatives
  • Regular dissemination and communication actions
