Business & Innovation Network (BIN@) participates in INVENTHEI: Innovation and Entrepreneurship in HEIs project, funded by the EIT HEI Initiave: Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education.
This project is lead by the University of Porto through its Faculty of Engineering (Principal Investigator, Prof. Gil Gonçalves) and also counts with the participation of the Faculty of Pharmacy and U.Porto Innovation under the ambrella of U.Porto. Other consortium partners are TTK University of Applied Sciences, University of Pardubice, Valahia University of Targoviste, University of Santiago de Compostela, the University of Sheffield, UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of University of Porto and INOVA+. INVENTHEI runs from July 2021 to the end of June 2023 and during this period the project consortium has at its disposal the funding of ~€ 400 000 in the 1st phase and ~€ 800 000 in the 2nd phase to boost innovation & entrepreneurship.
The vision of INVENTHEI:
“By 2025 a critical mass of highly educated young entrepreneurs and innovators will be trained by the participating higher education institutions, contributing to the emergence of highly dynamic research and innovation ecosystems – innovation districts – favouring the setup or inshore of knowledge-intensive companies on cutting edge technologies, value added products and services, and innovative business models in the manufacturing and health domains.”
The role of BIN@ in this project:
Through the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, BIN@ supports boosting and promoting entrepreneurship via the network’s annual events and other pertinent activities that contribute to project’s “learning and collaborating” pillar.
