Nabila As’ad
I never imagined how my life had changed ever since I enrolled myself in MESG. My first expectation was to gain more knowledge to develop innovative service systems. But what I got was beyond expectation. MESG has broadened my knowledge and unite me with the new field I am profoundly interested in: Services Design. That was my first time involved in interdisciplinary studies with classmates coming from different cultures and backgrounds. Our courses were very diverse and I enjoy those courses. A lot!
Our courses ranged from marketing and management, services design, logistics, human-computer interaction, and cognitive psychology. We were “forced” to keep up with the general idea of interdisciplinary fields and trained to work in real-life projects with people from different backgrounds. (Psst… every discussion during a project was always intense and fun!)
Ever since my return to Indonesia, at the beginning it was quite difficult to find the faculty I was fitted in with my skill and knowledge in Services Engineering and Management. But after a few months of adjusting, I found out that there were few people in Indonesia with the exact skill I have, especially regarding Services Design. As a result, I was invited to be a mentor and facilitator and even got accepted as a lecturer in a reputable public university in Indonesia. Services Design has a bright future here in a developing country like Indonesia. Moreover, my background in IT and experiences working in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment added more value.
Muito obrigada, MESG!
