DANIEL OLIVEIRA

In September 2016 I took my first steps in corridor B of the Faculty of Engineering of the U.Porto (FEUP) to do my registration in the Chemical Engineering course. From that day on, my life changed radically at several levels: the workload and self-study increased, so it was necessary to optimise my time, keeping a healthy balance between studies, social and personal life.

Since the beginning of my path in FEUP it was very clear the quality and demand of teaching and professors in this prestigious faculty. Throughout this path, I became involved in extracurricular activities, both as a participant and as an organizer. I occupied associative positions in the Chemical Engineering Students Association (NEEQ) where I developed different competences that are hardly acquired in theoretical classes, but that are equally important in Engineering.

At FEUP a strong interaction between the academic and business companies is promoted, resulting in several mutually beneficial partnerships and in a strong and fast absorption of the new graduates in the labour market.

Regarding future perspectives, I believe that the fact of having graduated at FEUP will be an added value, not only for the "name" but also for the capacities and tools developed there.

Allied to all this, I also had the privilege of studying in the city of Porto, which "first you find it strange, but later you get used to it" and of forming a solid group of friends with whom I shared the good and the bad moments.

Near the end of this stage, I look at the past with pride and at the future with enthusiasm. I can assure you that studying in FEUP was the best decision I could have taken!
