Nuno Brás

Nuno Brás is an engineer and data scientist with extensive experience in teaching and research. He is currently Partner and Co-Founder of DareData, a company that operates internationally in the field of data engineering. He has a master's degree in Engineering Physics and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior T´ecnico. In his PhD, he specialized in Electrical and Computer Engineering, completing his PhD with a focus on digital signal processing. He has been a mentor in various programming and data science initiatives. He was CEO of LMIT, specialized in energy data analytics, now part of Sonae Sierra. His career also includes important roles in consulting and software development. As an academic, he was assistant professor and course director of Computer Engineering at the Autonomous University of Lisbon, professor at the University of Évora and monitor at the Instituto Superior Técnico. He was also a researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicaç˜oes.

Alípio Jorge

Alípio Jorge is a full professor at the University of Porto and a researcher at INESC TEC. He is currently head of the Department of Computer Science and Coordinator of the Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Laboratory (LIAAD). He has dedicated his research career to machine learning, including inductive logic programming, frequent pattern extraction, recommendation systems and natural language processing. He launched with colleagues several MSc and BSc on Data Science and AI. He was a Sherpa for Portugal at the European Commission and responsible for the Portuguese Artificial Intelligence Strategy document.

Pedro Amorim

Pedro Amorim is an Associate Professor at Industrial Engineering and Management Department at FEUP and also an invited professor at Porto Business School, lecturing courses on Data-Driven Decision Making and Supply Chain Management. In 2014, he co-founded LTPlabs, a boutique analytical-driven consultancy company, which applies advanced analytical methods to help make better complex decisions. Pedro has been supervising and participating in numerous national and European-funded projects and co-authoring more than 70 research papers about Analytics, Supply Chain Management, and Retail Operations.
