Business & Innovation Network (BIN@) participates in Deep INVENTHEI: INnoVation and ENTrepreneurship in HEIs project, funded by the EIT HEI Initiave: Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education and that comes as a follow-up initiative to the INVENTHEI project.

This project is lead by the University of Porto (U.Porto) through its Faculty of Engineering (Principal Investigator, Prof. Gil Gonçalves) and also counts with the participation of the Faculty of Pharmacy and U.Porto Innovation under the ambrella of U.Porto. The Deep INVENTHEI consortium is composed, additionally, of  eight full partners that already participated in the initial INVENTHEI project and adds three new full partners from Ukraine, Sweden and Poland, making the total number of beneficiaries 11. Furthermore, Deep INVENTHEI also has onboard 7 Associated Partners from UK, Brazil and Ukraine. Check out the images below for a full overview of the project consortium:

 

OBJECTIVE

Deep INVENTHEI aims to set up an international network of regional innovation valleys which contribute to attracting and retaining talent in Europe, by training deep tech talents and supporting deep tech academic spin-offs and start-ups. It builds on the results of the INVENTHEI project and the Business and Innovation Network (BIN@). Deep INVENTHEI will implement an IVAP (Innovation Vision Action Plan) structured around the 3 EIT pillars: education (learning and mentoring activities), innovation (research-based learning activities) and business (collaboration and internship activities).

Deep INVENTHEI runs from May 2023 to the end of July 2024, during this period the project consortium has at its disposal the funding of ~€ 350 000 in the 1st phase and ~€ 400 000 in the 2nd phase to boost innovation & entrepreneurship with a deep tech focus. 

ROLE OF BIN@ IN THE PROJECT

Through the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, BIN@ supports boosting and promoting entrepreneurship via the network’s annual events and other pertinent activities that contribute to project’s learning and collaboration targets.
