From 20 – 21 May, the group of representatives from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), Science and Technology Park of University of Porto (UPTEC), start-up Dashdash and a cybersecurity company S21SEC were visiting the Hague/Delft cybersecurity communities.

The aim of the visit was to establish closer contacts with the European partners that have strong experience in cybersecurity, and to consequently identify possible ways to cooperate on advanced training and joint European R&D projects in this area. Under discussion were also possibilities of participating in international networks of cybersecurity, Soft Landing support in Porto and in Hague for the start-ups active at the field, the mobility of students and staff  as well as potential partnerships between the companies of the two countries.

The programme of this business mission included: The Hague Security DeltaThe Hague Tech and  Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). At the incubator The Hague Tech, the delegation from Porto got the opportunity to get to know the companies like ‘Spark Idea Factory’, ‘DutchSec’, ‘Open Book’, ‘Hexegic’, ‘Concentra’ and ‘Workshop Startup Factory’. In the Hague Security Delta (a cluster which brings together cybersecurity companies of the region), a meeting was held between the management of the network and the representatives from Porto. The second day focused on stregthening the relations with the academic & research staff of TU Delft working in the area of cybersecurity (incl. the meetings with the director of the Software Technology Department and with professors responsible for the university’s Cybersecurity Master’s Programme).
