Abílio Manuel Pinho de Jesus, born in 1973 in Oliveira de Azeméis, Portugal, is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering from the University of Porto (FEUP), having an academic career of about 27 years. He is also a research member at the Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (INEGI) and an integrated member of the Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transports and Aeronautics (LAETA). He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from FEUP in 1996 and got a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from FEUP in 1999. He got a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at UTAD in 2004, while he was a professor at UTAD, and Habilitation in Mechanical Engineering from FEUP in 2023. He is (co)author of more than 230 papers published in national and international scientific journals, more than 350 scientific works presented in national and international conferences, and more than 85 papers published in indexed proceedings. A total of 304 documents in SCOPUS and an H-index of 40 (>5470 citations) acknowledge the high-track record of the signatory in the fields of fatigue and fracture of materials and structures and manufacturing.
