Mário Vieira
CoLAB +ATLANTIC, Lisbon, Portugal

Insights on the viability of using structural health monitoring systems in offshore wind

Mário Alberto Vieira is a Mechanical Engineer and a Ph.D. from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. He is currently an Energy Consultant at CoLAB +ATLANTIC in the energy sub-domain, working in the promotion of the Portuguese offshore test sites. Mário has been gathering, for the past 9 years, expertise on offshore renewable energies at the experimental, numerical and socioeconomic levels. He is also an Invited Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.

Teresa Simões

Insights on the Planning the installation of Offshore Renewable Energy Systems

Teresa Simões has a PhD on Environment and Sustainable Energy and has been working in the wind Energy sector since 1999 at LNEG (Laboratório Nacional de Energia e Geologia, former INETI) since then. She is currently a Researcher at LNEG and the responsible for the Wind Energy Area. She is an Invited Professor at the Sciences Faculty of the University of Lisbon, and alternate Member at IEA Wind and EERA Wind. Her main research interests and work developed until now, are related with wind resource assessment in complex, urban and offshore environments, CFD modeling and development of planning methodologies for the installation of Renewable Energy Systems. She has participated in several European funded projects and is a member of the Management Committee of COST Action MODENERLANDS and responsible for LNEGs activities in the H2020 LEAP-RE project for Africa.

Enzo Marino

Platform and mooring system optimization for large floating offshore wind turbines

Enzo Marino is Assistant Professor of Solid and Structural Mechanics at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Florence (Italy). He received his PhD title in 2010 (joint title University of Florence–TU Braunschweig). His main research interests are in the areas of numerical models for offshore wind turbines with a focus on waves-structure interaction, computational mechanics and Isogeometric Analysis methods. He is the recipient of the 2017 EASD Junior Research Prize in the area of Computational Structural Dynamics, OMAE 2013 Best Paper of Ocean Renewable Energy Symposium, Firenze University Press prize for the best PhD Thesis in the Technological field in 2010.
