Neste ano foi promovida uma ação de formação que visava abordar a questão da relação entre a mobilidade e a investigação no âmbito da educação em engenharia.

 

GLOBAL MOBILITY, RESEARCH AND QA IN ENGINEERING EDUCATION

The talk/seminar aims to enable engineering educators to understand and gain fundamental knowledge, issues and current practices of mobility, research and quality assurance in engineering education. It outlines and elaborates important issues of global mobility and quality assurance in engineering education. In addition the importance of research and publication in engineering/technology education, especially for the early career engineering educators, will also be explored and elaborated with some key examples.

The speaker:

Dr Arun Patil is a Senior Lecturer in Engineering at CQUniversity, Australia. He has over 20 years of teaching, research and managerial experience in higher and further education. Dr Arun has published widely, and his publications include refereed journals, conference papers, book chapters and academic books. He is a Founder Editor-in-Chief of the “International Journal of Quality Assurance in Engineering and Technology Education”. He is also an Associate editor of the International Journal of “Online Pedagogy and Course Design (IJOPCD)”. His recently published book, Engineering Education Quality Assurance: a Global Perspective is highly accepted and cited scholarly publication in engineering education community around the globe.

In 2004, Arun has received a prestigious Silver Badge of Honour form the Monash University (the UNESCO International Centre) for his significant contribution to global engineering education. Arun holds a PhD, the Master of Engineering Science (Web-Based Engineering Education), both from Monash University, Australia and a Masters in Physics in the specialisation of applied electronics from India. Arun has coordinated and organised 14 International Conferences in various parts of World. He is the founder General Chair for the International Engineering and Technology Education Conference. He is an active member of several professional organisations including, Engineers Australia (EA), World Association for Cooperative Education (WACE), The Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN), The Australasian Association for Engineering Education (AAEE) and the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE). He is Chartered Professional Engineer, member of Engineers Australia.

Arun is currently in Europe with the European Network of Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) on Australian Government’s Endeavour Executive Fellowship.
