{"id":7955,"date":"2022-04-29T15:11:14","date_gmt":"2022-04-29T14:11:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paginas.fe.up.pt\/~icfeup\/?post_type=portefolio&#038;p=7955"},"modified":"2022-04-29T15:18:50","modified_gmt":"2022-04-29T14:18:50","slug":"bbai","status":"publish","type":"portefolio","link":"https:\/\/fe.up.pt\/icfeup\/en\/portfolio\/bbai\/","title":{"rendered":"BBAI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Brain Behavior analysis using the most advanced Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The BBAI project focuses on the detection and mitigation of poor psychomotor efficiency conditions in the context of driving vehicles, such as fatigue, stress, cognitive load and distraction, responsible for more than 90% of road accidents, with estimated costs of hundreds of billions of euros per year. Distraction is the greatest cause of accidents worldwide, followed by falling asleep, and only afterwards come speeding, excess alcohol and others. Stress and cognitive load, on the other hand, are responsible for aggressive and inattentive driving, causing an increased risk to motoring and health, so informing the driver of their condition becomes critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While behaviours such as alcohol or speeding are possible to quantify and measure with proper equipment and consequently monitor and prevent, other behaviours, such as those described above, are not yet sufficiently analysed and are therefore currently difficult to prevent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this context, the BBAI project aims at research and innovation in the development of artificial intelligence algorithms capable of identifying, through visual computing, physiological and psychological states that are dangerous to driving, using the most advanced techniques in the collection and marking of data collected in real and simulated driving environments.
