BE24 – Encontro Nacional Betão Estrutural

The next STRUCTURAL CONCRETE National Meeting – BE2024 will be held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) from 13 to 15 November 2024, continuing the National Meetings held every two years by the Portuguese Structural Concrete Group (GPBE). Jointly organised by the GPBE and FEUP, BE2024 will provide a broad forum for technical discussion on the subject of Structural Concrete, sharing experiences and knowledge from companies, academia and the technical community. BE2024 will also provide an opportunity for dialogue between all the engineering professionals involved in Structural Concrete, in a convivial atmosphere.

As Portugal is going through a period of great vitality in the field of Public Works, BE2024 will also be an opportunity to present and publicise case studies involving major projects, as well as to deepen the latest knowledge linked to the conception and design of structures, new materials, Eurocodes and rehabilitation.

Also of relevance to BE2024’s target audience are the challenges facing the construction sector, in a context of change driven by digital transformation, industrialisation 4.0 and the imperative of environmental sustainability, in which topics such as modular construction, prefabrication, additive manufacturing and BIM technology stand out.

Foreign and national speakers will be invited to the Plenary Sessions and to open the presentation of BE2024’s main themes. A series of Thematic Sessions will provide a wide-ranging forum for debate, in which companies, technicians and researchers will be able to present the work they have been involved in. A Technical Exhibition and the awarding of prizes to young researchers and professionals will complete the initiatives to ensure that BE2024 is a meeting of great interest to all participants.
