CongressSustainability, resilience and energy efficiency of underground space.
Organised by CPT, the Portuguese Commission for Tunnels and Underground Space, with the aim of exploring the importance of using underground space from a sustainable urbanism perspective.
To this end, in partnership with the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and in collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture of the same university (FAUP), a one-day seminar is being organised to reflect on these issues, an initiative that has received the support of the International Tunnelling Association, through its ITACUS committee, which works at international level to enhance the use of underground space.
The main guest will be Dr Antonia Cornaro, Expert on Underground Space and Business Developer, who has already been confirmed, as well as other ITACUS representatives (https://www.linkedin.com/in/antoniacornaro/?originalSubdomain=ch).
As part of the seminar, a round table will be organised on the themes of sustainability, resilience and efficiency of underground space. The event is scheduled for 17 November 2023 and will take place in the FEUP auditorium.
So, for the problem of cities and the state of the art in the use of underground space as part of the solution for a sustainable city, we are already counting on getting:
- The involvement of local authorities,
- The involvement of the transport companies Metro do Porto, Metropolitano de Lisboa, Infraestruturas de Portugal, key players in urban underground space, as well as their respective stakeholders,
- Presentations of technical developments related to the theme.
