Management and Construction Information
The dynamics and requirements of the construction process require the involvement of a growing number of stakeholders and organisations that collaborate and perform activities aimed at delivering the constructed object.
New dynamics generated by new requirements
In this context, greater complexity and collaborative work demands are observed in the processes. On the other hand, information that stakeholders handle and exchange throughout the life cycle is also increasing and is more specialised from a technical point of view.
For the efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness of the sector, technical competence is not sufficient if it is not accompanied by standardisation and production methodologies, as well as information exchange that minimises errors and interpretation and avoids work repetition.
ICS has developed important R&D activities in this area, namely:
- Information standardisation associated to construction process documents and in its exploitation throughout the life cycle;
- Developing technical document integrated and standardised systems for construction management;
- Drawing up guides and technical documents that, adapted to the reality and specificities of the institutions, makes it possible to meet requirements faster and helps integrate processes;
- Structuring and parameterising information about the construction process in order to simplify transposition to the BIM methodology;
- Analysis, development and audits in the scope of public procurement;
