When I applied to Higher Education, I was already certain of my choice in relation to the environmental engineering course in what would become my second home in the coming years: FEUP! My brother's testimony as an alumni of FEUP was very important in this choice, eventually exceeding my expectations and meeting the deserved prestige and merit that this Faculty has at national and international level.
The course environment is characterized by a strong help among students of several years, promoting relevant events such as the Environment Forum, in which I have already joined the organizing committee, which aims to promote the course, share experiences, address current issues and show opportunities for the future in the area of Environmental Engineering. Currently in the last year, It is with great pride that I am part of the team of monitors of the FEUP Project, since this curricular unit greatly contributes not only to the integration of 1st year students but also to the development of my own "soft skills" that go beyond scientific knowledge. Also the academic environment and practice allow an easy integration, in a very positive and healthy way.
FEUP is undoubtedly the right choice for those who aspire to study Engineering, not only because it provides us with the best conditions in terms of infrastructure, laboratories with high-level equipment, a specialized library, but also a demanding and high quality faculty.
If there are colleges that provide us with opportunities for interaction with companies, feup is, from initiatives such as FEUP CAREER FAIR, an employment fair that brings together national and international companies interested in disseminating their job offers or internships and recruiting students, recent graduates and FEUP alumni.
It is also to praise the various extracurricular activities that FEUP has, promoting personal and social development, factors so important for future Engineers.
In the last year about to complete my master's degree in Environmental Engineering, I can say with certainty that I regret my choice in no way.
Would you advise other students to study at FEUP? Certainly, not only for everything I have mentioned before, but also for the opportunities and doors that it opens to us!
