REBECA MARINI
In the two years I was in the Faculty of Engineering of the U.Porto (FEUP), I was able to deepen my knowledge through classes and projects that were meaningful and well-coordinated with the professors. This programme allowed me to meet colleagues, with whom I have developed friendships, and professors who were available and willing to teach and help through. I think the Master in Computational Mechanics is well structured and the difficulty level is accordant with the quality of teaching. Even so, there is an effort from the professors to improve and better adapt to the new generation of students who enter FEUP each year. The school has all the facilities needed to thrive. It also brings a number of good opportunities due to its connection with other universities and companies.
Once I finished my degree, I was hired by INEGI (Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering), a research institute linked to FEUP where I participated in national and international projects. Now, as my personal goal is to pursue a research career in aerodynamics, I will do a research internship in the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, in Brussels. I believe FEUP is a teaching institution that widens the student perspective of the professional world and, most importantly, it prepares its students for it. Over the years, as a student, and now as a professional, I see that FEUP does create engineers of all areas.
