The IEMS Symposium
Created in 2010
The Industrial Engineering and Management Symposium (IEMS) was created in 2010 by the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management from FEUP (DEGI).
Goals
IEMS aims at providing a relevant platform for doctoral students to present their research proposals, share their ongoing work, discuss their ideas and collect feedback from peers, professors and experienced researchers.
Sharing since 2012
In 2012, IEMS opened the doors to the industry by focusing on the impact of the research carried out by DEGI researchers on society. Companies are invited and welcome to attend the event, participate in the discussions and get a closer look at the undergoing projects.

The symposium is organized into two types of sessions:
PhD presentations and invited guests.
The 2025 edition will be held on January 7th, at Auditório Francisco de Assis

- 30.10.2024 | submission of the extended abstracts and elevator pitches;
- 18.11.2024 | review of the extended abstracts;
- 22.11.2024 | selection of full and pitch presentations;
- 13.12.2024 | final submission of the extended abstracts;
- 07.01.2025 | symposium day.

The map of venue entrances is shown in the first Figure to the right, and Google Maps directions for pedestrian and parking access are below. The venue has 100 parking spaces, and bus lines 300, 301, 600, and 704, plus the Polo Universitário and IPO metro stations, are within a 15-minute walk.
