He holds a PhD in Refining, Petrochemical, and Chemical Engineering, bringing analytical depth to complex technical environments. Tiago plays a central role in integrating customer feedback into the product development cycle, ensuring that real user needs shape the evolution of the platform. Acting as a key liaison between project teams and developers, he facilitates the delivery of high-impact, value-driven solutions. With strong experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies, he actively contributes to roadmap planning and epic closure processes. His focus on cross-functional collaboration and structured documentation fosters alignment across teams, helping reduce friction and accelerate delivery. Through these efforts, Tiago consistently improves product reliability and user experience, reinforcing his commitment to building scalable, customer-focused software.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Oil(s) as critical enabler(s) of growing electrical grids<\/strong><\/p>\n Oil is a broad term for hydrophobic liquids that are critical for many applications including electrical equipment such as transformers, from the small to the largest units used to power entire cities. Being transformers today in the spotlight as a bottleneck in the electrical infrastructure supply chain transformer oils inherently gain more visibility and attractiveness. Nynas AB is a long-standing Swedish chemical company specialized and focused in converting mineral and non-mineral feedstocks into specialty chemicals that are not meant to be burnt. Transformer oils are one those chemicals and one of its main application segments. This session will focus on this unique dialogue between oils and the growing electrical infrastructure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Hugo Campelo<\/strong><\/p>\n Senior Technical Advisor<\/em>, Nynas Ab, Sweden<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Biography<\/b><\/p>\n Hugo Campelo has 20 years of experience on electrical industry \u2013 namely on electrical transformers design, manufacturing, operation and maintenance. He is a chemical engineer and has an industrial phD on the thermal modelling of large shell-type power transformers from University of Porto, Portugal. From 2006 to 2009 he started researching on thermal management of transformers as a consultant, and later in 2010 he joined Efacec Transformers Business Unit. Up to 2023 he cross-cutted different R&D and engineering roles in Efacec from research and development to the global management of the technology of the group. In 2023 he joined Nynas AB as a technical expert on the application of transformer oils in power transformers, distribution transformers, instrument transformers and switchgear. Hugo currently supports technical sales and marketing to external customers and end-users across Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. He authored multiple publications related with transformers modelling, testing and monitoring of transformers. He is a CIGRE expert actively involved in multiple pre-standardization and standardization activities worldwide.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Galp and EngIQ: past, present and future.<\/strong><\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Fernando Borges<\/strong><\/p>\n Production & Operations Innovation Lead<\/em>, Galp<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Biography<\/b><\/p>\n Fernando Borges holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and a postgraduate specialization in Refining Engineering, Petrochemical, and Chemical fields. With over 13 years of experience as a Process Engineer at the Matosinhos Refinery, Fernando has demonstrated his expertise through eight years with the Technology Team and five years as the Fuel & Aromatics Plant Deputy Manager. Over the past four years, Fernando has been an integral part of Galp’s Industrial Innovation Team, leading initiatives and projects focused on the energy transition, including low-carbon fuels, green energy, the battery value chain, and energy management.
