ARRIVING IN PORTO (by air)
There are direct and non-direct flights to Porto from almost anywhere in the world. The airport serving the city is the International Airport Francisco Sá Carneiro, located about 11 km (or 7 miles) north of the city centre.

Road
Porto is literally surrounded by motorways, meaning the city enjoys excellent road connections with the entire Portugal. For instance, A 1 links Porto to Lisbon, A 4 provides the connection to Tras-os-Montes, whereas A 3 reaches all the way to Minho. Braga, Aveiro, Viana do Castelo are also connected by motorways to Porto, so, depending on the chosen destination, you must opt for either A 29 or A 28 in order to get to the selected destination. Either by bus or by car (private vehicle or rented car), Porto can be reached from virtually all corners of the country. Porto is is also connected to various European destinations by bus services. Rede Nacional de Expressos and InterNorte and are the main companies. The second has connections to all main European cities, via Paris.
Rail
You can reach Porto by train departing from international locations – in particular Paris – with connections to the Portuguese train service, Comboios de Portugal (CP). Porto has two major train stations: Campanhã (international connections, Lisbon as well as the Douro and Minho regions) and São Bento (regional connections, Galicia, Douro and Minho, Aveiro and Coimbra).
